No visas, no legalisation

Royal Thai Honorary Consulates are not authorised to issue visas for travel to Thailand or to legalise documents. This Honorary Consulate can neither process such matters nor advise on them. Only the official missions are responsible – for Baden-Württemberg, the Consulate-General in Munich.

Visa (e-visa)

All visa applications must be submitted online through the official e-visa portal. Paper applications by post or in person are not accepted.

Applicants residing in Baden-Württemberg select “Royal Thai Consulate-General, Munich” as the processing mission in the portal.

According to the Embassy, processing takes 15 working days from submission; if further documents are requested, another 15 working days apply. Fees are non-refundable once paid, and applicants may be invited to an interview while the application is being processed.

Questions about visas are answered by the visa section of the Consulate-General in Munich.

Legalisation of documents

The Consulate-General in Munich is likewise responsible for legalising documents. Send the documents by email for review first; the Consulate-General will then contact you to arrange an appointment.

The Embassy in Berlin also handles legalisation. It states fees of 15 euros per document and 30 euros for marriage, death and divorce certificates with a Thai translation. Fees must be transferred by bank, not sent as cash by post.
